This month, Sydney Festival is kicking off again with new artwork and performances from all over the world. Sydney Festival 2013, which takes place January 5 through 17, will be hosting many famous and novice artists to share with the public. There is music, visual arts, theatre, music theatre, family events, and much more to choose from. Some of the musical guests are: Lianne La Havas (Famous Spiegeltent), Los Coronas, Sharon Van Etten, and Darkside.
There are also fun places to go for both the young and old. Visit The Megaphone Project, which is where 25 megaphones of different shapes, colors, and sizes become a fun-sound playground for many to enjoy. Shout or sing into the megaphone and the voices return through a wireless audio network. Basically, one is creating their own musical performance. It is a free project that takes place January 19-20 and then, January 22-26. More info can be found at
Sydney Festival’s new modern summer home for music is called Paradiso at Town Hall. Paradiso at Town Hall plays music back-to-back from national and international bands and DJs. It is a great place to meet people after work or prior to a show. The Paradiso Bar is open at 5:30 PM with hot, light meals available. For more information, go to www.sydneyfestival.org.au.
